Prahladananda Swami @ Urban Yoga
He is back @Urban Yoga
Travelling Monk, Devamrita Swami hits the core issue at hand. Social transformation has been tried and tested for centuries. What will work in this techno-minimalistic world ? A world Revolution, more united forces in the United Nations, Socialism…, Monarchy or Democracy ?
In terms of technology, medicines, health and education, we have nailed it. We are way ahead of past civilization. We are Financially and economically divided and the standard of life is much higher.
How then do we explain the growing and extreme cases of global wars, poverty, suicide and stress levels ? Is it true that increased variety and consumerism are making us happier ? Social scientists have however detected the opposite. What next ? How will we achieve social transformation. It seems to be the call of the day.
Join us for a powerful evening of ‘Deep thinking and Mellow tunes’ with Devamrita Swami, a monk who has spent over 40 years connecting hearts around the world through the simple process of mantra meditation. Let’s get together and expel confusion and fog of current trends that dampen our life’s quest for happiness. Spirituality isn’t something that you experience when you are in a land far away, it’s right here and right now within the core of the heart.

WHAT IS KIRTAN?
Kirtan is the calling, crying and reaching across to a sacred place, away from the duality of material existence. It diggs deep into the well of the heart creating a sacred place in the heart.
Kirtan is a type of devotional yoga or BHAKTI YOGA, rooted in India over 5000 years ago. It is a group practice of chanting ancient Vedic mantras, accompanied by instruments including the harmonium, drums, flutes and hand cymbals. It is often done in a singing call and response between the musicians and the participants.
Kirtan singing opens the heart, strengthens the chakras, creates a sense of community, and takes us far away from our troubled mind. We often get acarried away with our mind and habits that we do not realise where we are or what we are doing. It only takes a few mantras to stabilise and soothe our internal environment.
Join us for the first chant Fest of the year. Bring light and clarity in your life and experience joy and happiness
